—- TEAM HARVEY TO PLAY THE WINNER IN THE SEMI-FINAL

There follows the scores and highlights for the two games this week in SuperLeague at the RE/MAX Centre:

ICE #3; Tie-Breaker Game (for 4th Place):

With both teams having 7-4 round robin records, THERAPEUTIC SERVICES PHYSIOTHERAPY earned hammer in the first end by defeating TEAM STRONG 8-2 in their Round Robin Game in Draw #8 on November 29.   The tie-breaker was a different story.   The best chance the men had to score in the game was in the first end when they gave up a four!   The men chose to shake hands early giving TEAM STRONG an 8-0 victory and a berth in another sudden-death game; the 3 vs. 4 Page Playoff Game.   There are things you just can’t explain in a game like this, but (if there was a key to the victory) the Heather Strong skipped team took full advantage of some perfectly placed guards.   THERAPEUTIC SERVICES PHYSIOTHERAPY gets $245.00 for their 7 wins this SuperLeague Season.   The women are now assured of at least $845.00.

Team Noseworthy has earned a berth in the SuperLeague Final (and at least $1,781.50) with their win earlier this month over Team Harvey who is assured at least $1,173 and will play the Semi-Final winner.   The RE/MAX SuperLeague Champion could win as much as $2,245.50.

ICE #4; Make-Up Game:

In the final of the 66 round robin games, A. Harvey (skipped by Jeff Thomas) trailed the Greg Blyde Provincial Junior Championship Team 2-1 at the half.   The Seniors, however, finished powerfully in the game that saw lots of rocks in play every end.   They scored pairs with hammer in both the 5th and 7th ends while the Juniors managed just a single in the 6th when 5 rocks surrounder the button.   Down 5-3 with hammer in the 8th end, Blyde was forced to play a high-difficulty double takeout, but the result was a 6-3 final.   The win gave the Seniors $175 from a 5-6 record for their SuperLeague Season.
